10 Best Upcoming Games For 2021

10 Best Upcoming Games For 2021

With the past year bringing mostly migraines and a cluster of new experiences that I do not think anyone was ready for, the New Year of 2021 seems promising. With the new Xbox Series X being released in early November along with the PS5, the gaming community has more to connect over and play together and it's EXCITING! The top 10 games that gaming groups all over the globe have been waiting for at the turn of the year. Starting from the top of the list and working the way downward starts with Halo Infinite.

1-Halo Infinite is the sixth game of the main series, but in all reality is the fourteenth game released. The large amount of followers the franchise has produced since the first release in 2001 has sold over 60 million copies, making it one of the most popular games released. The game plays off the story from Halo 5: Guardians and Master Chief's quest to save humanity. Maintaining the first person shooter playing style, 343 Industries (creator of Halo) states that the game is, "several times larger than that of the last two Halo games combined with opportunities to discover hidden rewards and assault Banished fortifications in brand new ways." Halo Infinite will provide players more to do and bigger opportunities for rewards, and in my opinion that is a win-win situation. Thankfully the game will be released for the Xbox One, the new Xbox Series X/S and Windows, so for all of you gamers who have already bought the new Xbox series the game will be just as amazing.

2-HITMAN 3 expected to release in January is the third and final production of the Hitman trilogy. The game will be available in both the regular and deluxe version with the deluxe version having more soundtracks, suits and items as well as contracts to complete for Agent 47. IO Interactive, the game creator discloses on their website ,"HITMAN 3 players can import locations from the previous games in the trilogy and have more than 20+ locations under one roof. All of the improvements to rendering, animation and AI introduced with HITMAN 3 can be enjoyed across all three games..." For those of us who have been with the trilogy since the release of HITMAN: Contracts can all appreciate the depth that the creators go, and is very thrilled to see what is new and improved. Since the game is going to allow for cross compatible locations through the game, the creators are releasing the game for numerous systems such as PS4,PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Windows and Stadia's streaming services, making this easily the best game for those players who prefer older systems.

3-Resident Evil: Village is one of the many games that has been produced under the Resident Evil title. The journey began in March of 1997 during the Genesis era, the Resident Evil franchise was born. 35 game in the course of 23 years has been made in the wake of the gaming era and over 100 million copies worldwide and are considered one of the top ten best selling games. The game itself has Ethan, a protagonist as the main character. The game play still resides in the first person perspective and bring in some of the old game characters that the fans still come to love (NO SPOILERS). The village that Ethan uncovers in itself is considered a character of the game, and because of this fact Capcom created Resident Evil: Village a single player experience. As expected all encounters that Ethan experiences throughout game play are more vampire, werewolves and witches. Since the new PS5 has been released the game is created with complete discretion to the new PS5 and use of a DualSense controller as well as PS5 3D Sound system.

4-Far Cry 6 is expected to make its debut in May 2021 for multiple game systems including the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. The father and son dynamic shared between the main characters allows for a lot of players to have a base for relation to the game itself. An oasis of beauty with nothing short of bloodshed and vulgar language, but that is what makes it fun, right? A lot of speculation that the characters in 6 are connected to those in 3, yet understandably, Diego in the new game could not be the same character as Vass. The game is overall extremely realistic looking, plus voice actors such as Giancarlo Esposito from the American hit drama Breaking Bad and Anthony Gonzalez who voiced Miguel in Coco will be voicing main characters. Overall the game is expected to be the best of all released yet, so do your collection a favor and PREORDER IT!

5-GhostWire: Tokyo released by Tango Gameworks is the second ever game released by the company is expected to drop sometime in the 2021 years. Unfortunately, little by the company and other gamer sites have much information on the game itself other than being a first person perspective and the main character having crazy, awesome magic abilities. It has been compared to Skyrim Magic abilities, but more complex in use. The game does not resemble the first game The Evil Release and The Evil Release 2, and many followers are ready to see what Tango has cooking in the game laboratory. Stay Tuned!

6-Overwatch 2 produced by Blizzard Entertainment is in the mix of creating the predecessor of Overwatch. The original game sold 50 million copies since 2016, but that does not match the amount of people who actually play. Originally released for the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Overwatch 2 will be available for the PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Maintaining the first person shooter perspective the game will have little resemblance of the first game, which for most of us followers is always nice to try something new. In game play there is two modes of Story and Hero Missions. Some of these missions have previous players that will team up to defend the world from the Null Sector. So Overwatch fans, let us wait and see!

7-Dying Light 2 is a first-person survival based game where the setting takes place in a post-apocalyptic world that encounters the dead (a.k.a zombies). You (the main character) has abilities to defend and defeat the dead with weapons, and items that you find along the journey. Expected release for the PC, Xbox One and PS4, but it is unclear if the game will be compatible for the new system releases at the beginning of November. The original was launched in 2015 and since then 13 million copies have been sold. A very big following has been created across the globe and people are raving for its release. One decision made in the game could be the life or death of not only you, but entire world that relies on you. SO NO PRESSURE!

8-Dungeons and Dragons: Dark Alliance is one of the many games created by the Dungeons and Dragons franchise. Not only is it a video game, but a role playing game that you can play with others online and in person. It is an addition to the other eight games and is a third person, role playing game developed by Tuque Games. Most of the game play will be self driven and decided, which is the main focus for the franchise as most of the games characters are designed to be developed by the players themselves. The game is going to be out of this world!

9-Scavengers is going to be adding heavy amounts of game play that derive from the Halo series. Released in 2017 in alpha, the game is moving to beta in 2021.  Released for play on the Xbox One and A competitive shooting game that takes multiple directions in strategy to win. You chose your character, and start your journey in the encampments, and enough victories you can build better arsenals. Including more seasonal, modes, enemies, characters and much more. This game is stepping up the entire game, so keep waiting and scavenge for it in the game stores in the coming months.

10-Kena: Bridge of Spirit is being placed on this list for a couple reasons. Firstly, it really resembles Avatar the Last Airbender vibes and that is something that is hard to recreate. Secondly, the graphics that have been released for the game are some of the clearest and most realistic I have ever seen besides Forza Horizon for the intricate car detail. An adventure based game that has the main character Kena roam a village as a spirit guide and discovers more under the surface. Available for the PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 which is unfortunate for those who prefer the Xbox consoles, but keep your head up, they are discussing creating the game for Xbox. Building a team, explore and fast-paced combat are the three key features the game offers and really vivid spirits scattered across the forest that you (the character) will be exploring. So let's here it for the new year!

2021 is looking to be a very exciting year even if most of it may be spent indoors. Video Games have been making this year a little easier to manage and be able to bring us out of the moment. Thankfully all the new releases are some of the next generation of gaming with 3D capabilities, better image quality and new systems available for grabs. Hopefully the run through helps some of you searchers with guidance into your next completion task. Thanks for stopping by at Overclocked. See you soon!
